In order to get the most out of your Satmap Active 10 GPS , it is important you keep your software up to date on both the GPS unit and the supporting applications. As new features are developed and upgrades become available, Satmap will release these to all its customers. These upgrades will be available as downloads from the website or can be accessed via SatSYNC.

There are three key software applications:

Product Registration

It is important that you register your Active 10 GPS as soon as you receive it: when we have new updates, you will be informed via e-mail as well as a notice appearing on the website. Registered customers will also receive special offers, discounts, and advance notice of new products as well as software upgrades, so it is well worth spending a few minutes completing the Register your Active 10.

SatSYNC

SatSYNC is a free software application that allows your computer to recognize the Active 10 GPS when it is plugged into the USB. Once connected this allows you to manage the device and ensure you have it set up in the way you wish. With SatSYNC you can:

• Download software updates to the Active 10
• Import / export route files
• Import / export Objects Of Interest
• Geocaching / Google Earth

Why update: We listen to our customers and take all feedback seriously. Wherever possible we incorporate this feedback into our software, resulting in new features and new functionality. By ensuring your Active 10 GPS unit is always running the latest software you will get the most out the unit and it will be able to help you navigate in the great outdoors all the better.

When to update: We do not have a set schedule for updates. As and when a new piece of software is available we will ensure everyone knows about it. The best way to stay informed is to make sure you have registered your unit so that you can receive e-mail notifications. Notices will also appear on the website.

How to update: The software on Active 10 can be updated by customers at home using their own computers. You need to install the SatSYNC software on your computer, and every time you plug your Active 10 into the USB, it will check the software version you are running. If an update is required, it will detect this and give you the option to install. By following the simple on screen instructions, this should only take a few minutes.
