The Active 10 is fully operational straight out of the box. The maps are supplied on map cards that simply plug into the unit. No other computer or equipment is necessary.

Satmap can also provide your school with an additional software tool ideal for using GPS technology and digital maps in the classroom. With the Online Route Planner and Route Share Network, pupils and students can create routes on their PC, download them onto their Active 10, and share them with other users. This software is available online as a web application: it is accessed from the home page on www.satmap.com and can be seen as two orange tabs near the top of the screen labelled Route Planner and Route Share. As both applications compliment each other, they are sold as a complete bundle.

Online Route Planner:

The Online Route Planner provides users with Ordnance Survey 1:25k Explorer and 1:50k Landranger mapping for the whole of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. It allows pupils/students to:

• create routes
• name routes, waypoints and add comments
• download routes onto the Active 10
• upload routes from the Active 10
• create a route card
• print off copies of the map and route card
• store routes on a private space on the server

This system provides schools/universities with access to over £5000 worth of Ordnance Survey mapping.

Route Share Network:

The Route Share Network is an area where users can access a library of routes for them to use at no additional cost. It features:

• 3D photographic imagery - so you can see exactly where the walk is going to take you!
• route upload and download
• add comments and feedback on routes

These applications are complementary and sold together as a bundle.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. Purchase of the Online Route Planner and Route Share Network package provides access to the web applications for a period of one year, and users must agree to the terms and conditions of use when they first log in.
2. In order to use these products, the user MUST have an Active 10 sports GPS: this software cannot be used in conjunction with any other GPS unit.
